The metadata project

VISA is a metadata project covering sub-Saharan Africa.

It aims to highlight progress towards vulture conservation objectives outlined in the Multi-species Action Plan to conserve African-Eurasian Vultures (the Vulture MsAP).

VISA highlights ongoing knowledge gaps, promotes connectivity between stakeholders and aims to minimise duplication of effort.

Metadata (literally 'data about data') are the simplest way to describe what work is being done.

The metadata project concept relies on all stakeholders involved with vulture research and conservation to promote their work by sharing their metadata, whilst keeping their project data on their own terms.
